I'm 23...I'm an Adult...And I Do What I Want!

To be fair, I am now 25…I'm still an adult...and I still do what I want (for the most part).

To explain the inspiration for this blog title, we'd have to go back in time and provide a hell of a lot of back story. So, let's leave it at the short and sweet version:

Two years ago, I was mending a broken heart, and my friends were helping me by, well…by paying for all my drinks. At the time, I was living in Philadelphia, and we frequented spots up in NoLibs (Northern Liberties), including 700 Club, where this fateful story begins.

Some time around midnight, my body told my brain it was time to leave 700 Club and go two blocks north to Standard Tap. Having informed my friends (but failing to wait for them), I set off…alone. 15 minutes and two scraped knees later, my friends located me outside of the bar, berating a very tall, very wide bouncer. The story goes that I took my license out, shoved it IN HIS FACE, and defiantly declared, "I'm 23. I'm an adult. I do what I want."

(I repeated this several times…for emphasis. Obviously.)

Needless to say, my tactic entertained both my friends and the bouncer, and all's well that ends well, right?

The moral of the story is: I'm only human, and sometimes human beings just need to do….whatever the hell they want. Sometimes we need to get silly or get crazy or get angry to figure it all out. Refresh. Reboot.

I'm also a writer, and sometimes writers just need to write….whatever the hell they want. So far, I've worked on two themed blogs, but I've been craving a place to write about anything and everything.

And here we are.

I hope you enjoy my thoughts, my musings and my narcissistic ramblings. If you don't, that's cool.

It's your life….you're an adult…go do what YOU want.
